we are pleased to announce that one of our favourite producers justus köhncke has finally given in to the constant barrage of requests to work with us. yes, welcome to the rank of nang cosmonauts justus. he has kindly agreed to work on a new artist album for us for release in late 2011 / 2012 but in the time being we just had to pop the mans cherry and get some köhncke-tunage released on nang.
first up is an ep of two brand new compositions. fussmachine and renewal. we have also included a remix and wrapped it all into the fussmachine ep.

here at bearfunk hq we firmly believe in perseverance. we keep asking questions until we get the right answer and with 6ft bear by our side the answer is usually yes. we kept asking ilija rudman to get in the studio and write us a killer lp but being the busy bee that he is it was hard for him to take the time out. we kept asking until he eventually caved in and went underground to record his first lp, >the reveal<. ilija is a devoted and passionate man when it comes to music. one of his prerequisites for recording an lp was that the recordings had to be made with the same techniques and equipment that inspired him to make music in the first place. so ilija hooked up with one of his studio mentors and got his dream line-up of synthesizers, roland jupiter 4 & 8, minimoog, roland sh2, juno 60 and his dream drum machines linn and oberheim dmx. these analogue machines fire up to create a warm and authentic vibe across the whole lp. we are reminded here that machines do have soul if used properly. we start proceedings with the wigged out boogie of >inspectors drive< which might be a little nod in the direction of wally badarous classic chief in< have all the ingredients of dj friendly hits. the lp reveals all the influences that ilija has experienced and it shows the talent that runs inside him as he is able to make such an amazingly retro lp sound like something from the future. we are sure in years to come this lp could become as important as the influences that inspired mr. rudman to make it.

hummingbirds 2nd release will be provided by chilean born artists, andres bucci (and yes, brother to pierre bucci). andres >unity hood ep< provides 3 works from the former visual artist, each track capturing the unique style and flavor that oozes funk and personality. remix privileges go to alexi delano (plus 8, drumcode) who turns up the pace on soul thing and punches a solid techno groove.

after dorisburgs hypnotic journey we give you the return of genius of time! a-side gliese 581g is an analogue tribute and journey to the newfound planet in the gliese star system, far, far away. on the flip, expect a stripped-down conga groove and laser blasts of science fiction house music that will rip up the dancefloors! according to some reviewers aniara03 is idiosyncratic non-conformist house music... and yes, we do agree with those words!

bergerac is the new record label set up by uk producer and dj red rack’em (aka danny berman) to showcase the more dancefloor end of his music productions. danny is well known for his wonky disco outings as hot coins on tirk and also his deep as hell beatdown house on untracked. his style of production and djing have recently taken a slightly more banging angle due to the influence of larger scale festival gigs such as glastonbury, snowbombing and the big chill. so it seemed like the perfect time to start a label focussing on house and techno for the more discerning dancefloor. the label artwork will feature bespoke illustrations from german artist silke eiselt of all the houses danny has lived in chronologically. how much more fucking house can you get than that? how i program is a raw, heads down, whacked out banger, which straddles the wafer thin divide between house and techno with aplomb. with a massive loud donking bass noise, seedy late night atmosphere and danny shouting about how he programs his shit - this is some freaky deaky peak time business. next up is bonn, a warm crackly rhodes driven halcyon house moment, which evokes the slightly majestic and nostalgic vibe of people dancing alone together in a hot room at the end of the night. cheering sourced directly from bonn in 1982 mixes with naive keywork and distant female chants the first bergerac ep closes with it happens to us all, which could be an ode to prematurely greying men, the onset of senility or occasional farting in public places. its definitely a prime slice of wrong house with some seriously french hi hats and dubbed out bassline action though. yes, its more syncopated than an exploding castanet factory but thats how we like that kind of funk

(breakchops ep 2009). the remix for two door cinema club (kitsune) has been a real club hit and his sebastien tellier remix was the one that had been most featured on playlists (along with a–trak s remix). yes: the remix for cut copy on modular was a bomb, too and his telonius remix is currently playlisted all around. guess that s the reason why so many labels have been chasing moullinex to sign on them. some have been really pushing him hard to join their roster, but luis preferred to stay with his munich buddies at gomma. and so now it is sure: this new moullinex ep is only the beginning of a whole series for gomma records.

fresh & ltd repress !! mark murphy is a jazz singer legend. he started in the late 50is, ruled the 60is and his records are a hipsters must have since the 70is. then he came to fame again when one gilles peterson got him into dingwalls in the late 80is and japanese producers united future organisation made murphys version of stolen moments (he wrote the lyrics) really big. recently he releases his second album love is what stays on verve (germany), produced by famous german trumpeter till brönner. another famous german producer, yes its henrik schwarz, touched the original track with its deep vocals and full orchestrra arrangement and created the ultimative fusion of jazz and the recent deep house sound from berlin. extremly tasteful. you will never heard strings, wooden brass, and such deepnees of murphy featured in the recent clubcontext but will do thanks to henrik schwarz. different to many others this remix gets released right after being finished in henriks studio so you can say this is the sound of the moment
